THE edge

The Edge is a trail race designed to take you to the boundary between control and failure.

It’s the MOMENT failure becomes probable.

CONCEPT

Most ultrarunning events allow you to fade, manage decline, or settle.

The Edge does not.

It demands continuous escalation and willingness to invite failure.

FORMAT

The Edge takes place on a multi-kilometre trail course with meaningful elevation.

Within an overall time limit, participants complete as many laps as possible under one strict condition:

Every lap must be faster than the one before.

Failure to improve a lap time ends your race immediately. No ties. No pauses. No second chances.

reaching the edge

Your race ends when you stop, fail to improve a lap time, or become a finisher.

Either way, you have reached the edge.

To become a finisher, you must complete a lap in the final hour of the event, having maintained a continuous sequence of progressively faster laps.

Do not underestimate the difficulty of achieving this if you’ve have pushed escalation up to that point.

you control your escalation.

Push harder and failure becomes more probable.

This is not an error in the design.

This is the design.

how close will you get to the edge?

ethos

This event exists to explore escalation: how far it can be pushed, and where it fails.

But the Edge isn’t about endurance alone. It uniquely tests your willingness to invite failure, which humans are wired not to do, and it offers no guarantees.

Not everyone will finish. In fact, perhaps no one will. That’s the fun part.

You can expect a stripped-back event, delivered with care.

With limited entries, the focus is a shared experience in which every participant finds their edge, wherever it lies.
