ABOUT THE SPIRAL

The Spiral is a 6-hour endurance track race designed to challenge your mind as much as your legs. It’s just you and the track, 400-meter loop after 400-meter loop. No changing scenery, no distractions, and no finish line.

It’s a raw test of how far you can go in six hours. For some, this will mean pushing the boundaries well beyond an ultra. For others, this is a chance to reach a new milestone in a crowd-free setting.

The Spiral format welcomes all abilities. There’s no pressure to run for the full six hours. You’re free to run, walk or mix both to pace your effort.

Whether you're chasing a personal best or just trying to keep sane while circling the track, we invite you to dig deeper than ever before. Or simply show up and see what happens! Go on, go inspire yourself.

WHY SPIRAL?

Running laps around a 400-meter track for hours is, by most standards, insane. That’s exactly why we’re doing it.

RACE FAQs

  • Registration for the 2026 edition will open later this year, and will remain open until the race has sold out, or until 2 weeks before the race (whichever comes first).

  • No.

The only requirement to comply with ARC/UKA age limits is that runners are aged 20 years or older on race day.

  • Because of the race format around a 400-meter track, the Spiral welcomes all levels of experience and speeds.

You don’t need to be fast to join the race, and there’s no pressure to run the full 6 hours. You’re free to mix running and walking.

We’ll reserve the inside lane for running to ensure that everyone is able to run their best race.

  • There’s no obligation to move for the full 6 hours. You’re welcome to take breaks and/or finish your race before the end of the 6 hours.

You’ll receive a finisher’s medal provided you’ve started on time and completed at least one full loop of the track.

Qualified first aid will be on site to provide medical assistance if needed.

  • Please bring:

    • Running shoes

    • Weather appropriate running attire

    • Your own drinking cup, bottle or flask (as our race is cupless)

    • Anything else you need to move safely & comfortably for up to 6 hours

In case of adverse weather conditions, we’ll email you 24-48 hours before the race asking you to bring additional items (e.g. waterproof jacket, spare base layer, hat...)

  • Yes, toilets and changing facilities (female and male) are available inside the track club house.

    • Spectators: Spectators and crew are allowed but they must remain off the track, and away from the drinks / aid station at all times. We expect spectators and crew to be respectful of the race, runners and officials. But they’re more than welcome to make some noise and cheer you on!

    • Pacers: Pacers are not allowed.

  • We can facilitate a transfer of your entry up until 1 month before the race. Please get in touch with us before this date if you wish to transfer your place to someone else, and please note that this is subject to a fee as per our Terms & Conditions.

We’re unable to offer refunds or deferrals under any circumstances.

Please also read our Terms & Conditions and don’t hesitate to contact us with any other questions!
